Dining, Entertainment, & Shopping
Doc B's is a restaurant and bar that's near the neighborhood of Victoria Park. It's located in Fort Lauderdale, so residents can easily make the journey over. It offers seasonal American comfort food with a contemporary interior design. Another restaurant to check out is The Wilder. It's a three-room lounge serving a variety of dishes and cocktails.
Shuck 'N Drive is a restaurant that serves New Orleans-style food. Grab a drink or entree and watch sports on the restaurant TV while you eat.
If you prefer to eat Italian food, then Il Mulino is a wonderful restaurant to visit. They have homemade pasta and Italian-style cocktails to try. There's also an Italian restaurant called Serafina. Just like Il Mulino, they serve authentic Italian cuisine.
The Fresh Market has a fantastic bakery where you can grab macaroons, cake, brownies, and other types of confectionaries to eat while you shop or to take home and enjoy. The store provides many well-known health food brands to purchase, as well as some local options. There are a total of three stores in the city.
Things to Do
Victoria Park has many things you can do without ever leaving the comfort of it. There's a nice park within the neighborhood, also known as Victoria Park, that's a great place to take your children or enjoy walking around the area. Another nearby park you can go to in Fort Lauderdale is Holiday Park. Like Victoria Park, it has a nice playground for children, but it also has sports fields, rinks, hiking trails, and a recreational center.
Feel like watching a movie? You may want to check out Gateway Theatre. Established in 1951, this theatre has played its fair share of movies. Unlike most movie theaters, Gateway Theatre plays indie movies. That means you'll get the chance to see movies you'd never have the chance to see elsewhere. If you're more of a play or musical person, you could head over to the Parker Playhouse. It has over 1100 seats for people to watch the outstanding performances put on by local actors.
War Memorial is yet another popular theatre close to Victoria Park. This one has over 2100 seats and has hosted professional wrestling cards in the past, specifically from 1951 to 1987.
It's not every day you hear of an academy just for tennis players, but Evert Tennis Academy makes that its focus. It's a great place for amateur tennis players to go if they hope to make it big one day.
